Assumptions of Ethical considerations for EBP

Assumptions of Ethical considerations for EBP

I assume the nurses role in ethics regarding evidence implementation and generation is to protect the clients rights. That includes but is not limited to:their right to informed consent, autonomy, justice and beneficence. Nurses contribute to ethical conduct of research and implementation of research findings through advocating for their clients and ensuring that no ethical guidelines have been crossed. Nurses should always be upholding their duty to their client and following the standards of client centered care.

Mental Health Reflection Essay

Mental Health Reflection Essay

There have been many challenges since the beginning of this pandemic, not just for me but for everyone who is a part of this world. There are very few people who have managed to avoid the effects of COVID-19. What has kept my peers and myself going since we were sent home last March were the small moments of hope that we were  lucky enough for the universe, as well as our healthcare governing bodies to bestow upon us. The first…

Appraisal and Synthesis

Appraisal and Synthesis

I discovered that there were many benefits to animal assisted therapy. We discovered that animals can reduce stress and improve quality of life in oncology patients. It can also put a smile on their face. The literature appraisal and synthesis did not change my assumptions about the topic as I knew that AAI had positive effects on patient outcomes. As a team we arrived at the same conclusions about the findings. I will be sure to advocate for my patients…

Simulation 1 reflection

Simulation 1 reflection

I expected that simulation would be an exercise that would make me feel more comfortable interacting with psychiatric patients and expose me to the different types of conversations that I could potentially have with a patient of that population. After going through my virtual simulation experiences, my observation hours at midcoast, a lot of my clinical for NSG 315 and my rotations at the student health center, I have developed a greater understanding for communication with patients. Stigma in mental health

In our culture, generally people are told to “stay positive” when they go to another member of society to seek out validation. What the people are looking for usually is somebody to listen to them and validate their feelings. What the person usually gets when seeking out a person that will listen to…

How I made a difference

How I made a difference

When I had my clinical experience, there was a patient who had just had his left knee amputated and could no longer enjoy the activities that he once participated in. He used to work as a CNA at a VA hospital and enjoyed taking care of the patients there. However he could no longer participate in that due to his condition. I did my assessment on the patient and took his vitals, and reported it off to the nurse. During…

Wellness Goals Exemplar

Kyle McLaughlin Professor Goran Integrating Experience 1 11/4/2020 Wellness Goals Exemplar At the beginning of the semester, I set the goal to feel connected to a force greater than myself. It was important to me to feel that sense of progression from completing my coursework, as with each assignment…
