I discovered that there were many benefits to animal assisted therapy. We discovered that animals can reduce stress and improve quality of life in oncology patients. It can also put a smile on their face. The literature appraisal and synthesis did not change my assumptions about the topic as I knew that AAI had positive effects on patient outcomes. As a team we arrived at the same conclusions about the findings. I will be sure to advocate for my patients to receive pet therapy if appropriate in my future nursing practice. There have been very few team challenges throughout the journey of this paper and I am happy to work with such great fellow students!
