Planning for Change-Dissemination Project

Planning for Change-Dissemination Project

In the dissemination project, my team is addressing the possibility of improvement through bedside nurse to nurse patient handoff which has the potential to better include the client in their own care. This project will be accomplished through communicating effectively and setting aside meeting times to work on the assignment, as well as through collaboration with our clinical instructor. The project will also involve collaboration with the nurses on our floor to hear their perspectives and thoughts on doing report at the bedside.

We will hold each other accountable for task completion through communication in our group text message. Our clinical instructor has also welcomed discussion about our dissemination project during clinical, which should prove to be helpful. If something needs to be done and the task hasn’t been completed we will send reminders in our group text message and meet as a group accordingly, while also attempting to plan around work, as well as exams for Adult health 3, which will definitely be a challenge this semester in EBP. If conflict arises, we will reach out to the individual team member(s) causing dispute and deal with the conflict through conversation to come up with a solution that works best for everyone.

Some barriers to overcome while completing this project as a team would include simply finding a time when we all can meet in our busy schedules. We all have busy lives trying to study for the exams at our own paces as well as our own lives or relationships outside of nursing school. It is important to all of us that we nurture those lives and relationships so that we can stay emotionally and mentally healthy during these stressful times, so I definitely want to prioritize finding time that works with all of the group members schedules. Some benefits include having multiple minds work together to establish solutions. More minds means more ideas which means more efficient, as well as effective progress. This project could be useful in future nursing practice because I could present the findings from our research to the unit that I work on in order to generate reimbursement for the hospital that I work at, and in turn hopefully contribute to improving nurses working conditions on my future unit.
