I discovered that bedside nurse reporting has many benefits including an increase in patient safety, situational awareness and the client feeling more involved as well as satisfied with their care. Our literature review did not change any of my assumptions regarding the topic, it was pretty consistent with what I already thought to be the benefits of bedside nurse reporting. Our team did not have to revise the topic or the proposal, which was helpful during the process of the project.

In the future, I may consider implementing bedside nurse reporting into my practice, however the attitudes towards the practice is very negative amongst other nurses. The attitude towards the practice would make it very difficult to implement in the future unless a change in mindset is sweepingly achieved.

Successes we have experienced include getting the assignments done by the assigned due dates as well as learning valuable information from the literature review that I could potentially use in practice. Challenges to team collaboration include time constraints and finding time to work on the project during such a busy semester. Challenges were navigated via text message and working on the project remotely.
